Welcome to Family Law Matters. Hi, everyone, I’m Dr. Michael Mantell, and I’m privileged to be joining Bonnie Rabinovitch Mantel, owner and managing partner of the Primus Family Law Group. Hi, Bonnie.

Hi, Michael, how are you doing today? I’m doing very, very well, Bonnie. The question that’s popped up is the issue of guardianship. Now, guardianship isn’t necessarily a part of divorce, but it’s about caring for children.

(0:33 – 1:03)
And I know that Primus Family Law Group spends a fair amount of time paying attention to this issue. So let’s talk a bit about guardianship and clarify for those who are interested how Primus Family Law can step in and help you if you have questions about and concerns about the care of children. Well, you know, we do put families first at Primus Family Law Group.

(1:03 – 1:33)
And one of the things that we’ve noticed is that sometimes there are issues with both parents, good people, difficult path, and they need somebody to care for their child. Either it’s been court appointed or they’ve decided themselves. And so that’s when Primus can step in and help them fill out the forms and get it down the right path to be properly processed with the court so the child can best be taken care of.

(1:33 – 2:04)
Do you meet with the children before or during this process? That depends on the attorney’s strategy and what they’re looking to accomplish and whether or not that’s been agreed to by the parents. And do the children oftentimes have psychological help and support through this as well? Again, that really depends on the parents and not everybody can afford it. Not everybody’s got the insurance to cover that.

(2:05 – 2:33)
So, you know, there are always issues along the way. We try to focus on the legal and offer whatever resources we can to see if the parents are willing to get their child the best care possible. I know you provide very sophisticated client services to assure that all parties are being cared for, but I know that you have a particular heart for children and their concerns.

(2:33 – 3:03)
So if people do wanna contact you and speak with you about concerns they have about children, how can they reach you? Well, you can reach us directly at 619-574-8000 and we do offer a free 30-minute phone consultation, which you’ll get with me. And you can also reach us online at www.PrimusFamilyLaw.com and somebody will reach out to you.
